But if you have more than one cd device in your machine, make sure you have one set as Manster and one as slave.
To do this, before sticking your new cd device in your computer, at the back of the Cd device, there is a switch, move it one way and it says Master, move it the other and it says slave.
Move your new Cd device to Master, and any other CD device in your machine as Slave.
Other than that, its a case of plugging the wires in, and playing it.
If it doesn't work, simply swap the master and slave buttons on both CD Devices
Maybe it had some really loud music on it!! Seriously though this appears to happen very occasionally and at random, it may have damaged the laser head anyway when the disc broke.
As xandx says set one to master and one to slave but it is usually not a switch but a clip-on link which you move from one position to the other.
