For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Take a half pound of white fish (cod haddock etc) and a half pound of smoked white fish, simmer gently in a 1/4 pint of milk for 5 minutes, remove fish and flake it into an oven proof dish, removing any bones and skin. Make a basic white sauce using the milk from the fish and add some cheese (cheddar is probably best) add some parsley and black pepper and pour over the fish. Mash a pound and a half of potatoes and spread over the fish and sauce (like you would for shepherds pie) sprinkle with cheese and bake in a hot oven until golden brown. serve with fresh crusty bread, peas and a bottle of white plonk!
