i think so. they are the last two answers im stuck on. these two clues actually cross on the sixth square of 10 across.

sorry. yes there are 7 leters in the sign answer i came up with allotrope for blobs but couldnt get anything then for the sign clue .because there are 9 letters in the blobs answer splodges doesnt fit. if allotrope is right across,it would leave sign as _L_C_R_ sorry if im confusing all you good people!

I am puzzled as to why allotrope would be the answer to blobs.
To me, allotrope has a specific meaning in chemistry- for example ozone is an allotrope of oxygen

Bibblebub i think youve cracked it with splotches.i had an answer wrong for another clue. and now placard fits too. thanks to everyone its been bugging me for days.

I agree with Splotches and Placard. I assume that for 10a your L was typed in the wrong place on your original post
