I've just been sent an email that says that it's dangerous to drink bottled water that has been left in the car as the heat releases dioxins in the plastic which can cause breast cancer. Has anyone heard of this and is there any evidence to back this up?

Yes, I have - I'll try to find it.
it may or may not be true, but it's under investigation http://urbanlegends.a...l/a/bottled-water.htm
The US Food and Drug Administration (which is one of the most well-respected sources in the world) has looked into this and concluded that there are no valid safety concerns:

Thank you Buenchico and Boxtops.
I have heard of it - there's an urban legend that Sheryl Crow had breast cancer and this is the cause of it - although I've no other knowledge as to how true it is or what evidence that's based on. Will have a read through those links tho :)
Ive heard it as well. Dont know if its true but am not taking any risks.
