"Dear Sandy Roe, there is still time to secure this valuable life cover..."
Do Nationwide know something that I need to know? If not, can they begin to imagine how much of a downer a letter like this is?

It's the opposite actually.
The fact they want to insure your life , means they don't expect you to claim.
It's when they refuse you life insurance that you need to start worrying.
Nationwide, aren't they just great?
Started getting this garbage just before my 50th,
10yrs+ down the line they are still reminding me of my mortality about every 3 mths or so.
And Saga got so bad I got myself taken off their mailing list.
Don't mention Saga. I got a letter from them the other day. I was not amused. They must have made a mistake on their mailing list :-(
