'Heartbroken' that's a little extreme, You must have been one of a very small minority of children who were so affected, I have always been fascinated by the looks of joy and amazement on children's faces, when they see such tricks, being performed.
Surely, it is only when we become adults that we realise the full implications behind keeping and training these magnificent animals to perform these tricks?
