Assuming you mean on the floor they are nice and warm to walk on but if they are not sealed they are hard to keep clean.

Don't do it, If they get wet after a while they start to buckle & look ugly, then you'll want to take 'em up, believe me you will not want to go there.
A nice lino - much better.
