I have W7 & Firefox & I have lost the ability to open my Shortcut Icons on Desktop. When I click on anyone of them I get a message stating '' The Target of this Internet Shortcut is not valid. Go to The Internet Shortcut Property Sheet
and make sure the Target is Correct.'' Please advise how to do this.

Right click on the desktop shortcut, select properties. In the window that opens choose the 'Web Document' tab and check if the URL quoted there is correct. Probably better if you 'copy and paste' the url back in, just to be sure. Click apply and OK.

Thanks for your answer, however there is no ''Web Document Tab'' showing when I open Properties.

this should tell you how to set up icons

http://windows.micros...-delete-desktop-icons

If the ones you have aren't working you could try deleting them and creating new ones.

But if they have all ceased to work, there may be a wider problem.
