2) IDEAD = i+dead - dead is same as very as in "i was dead late"

3) yes - you = THOU, had initially in luxury car = put H inside G.T.

3) yes TULIP - replace sailors = R.N. with left = L in watch = TURNIP, a name for an old-fashioned watch
