Yes, the Searchers, and Gerry and the Pacemakers were top of the bill, but PJProby outshone them all. I am a wrinkley groupie!

Blimey - I think he was on tour with The Searchers when I saw him in '64.

It must be the longest tour in history.

He lived in Bolton in the 1980s for a while. I remember in the early days of TOTP from Manchester watching it at a friend's house then nagging her mother to take us to the airport to see them all catching the last shuttle to London, we saw him a few times. Seem to remember that the stitching on his stage costumes left a lot to be desired and little to the imagination.
