Are all railway stations exciting?

I was thinking about coming home on the train. You get off the train, and there's something atmospheric about the high, echoey station, which smells like the town, and the sounds of the town are echoing around it. You feel a little thrill, no matter how many times you do it.

And there are seagulls, or maybe pigeons at some stations.

Do we ever grow out of being a little bit excited by railway stations?

And no, I haven't been watching re-runs of The Railway Children.

That's actually it's better side unfortunately.
St Pancras must be the best one yet. Love it there too.

I used to work in Boots the chemist donkeys yrs ago before it ever got changed around. (Liverpool St) All my fond memories flew out of the window when I returned to view it many years later. It used to be a pokey little station!
It does seem a bit odd that you have one of the most expensive hotels in London literally outside the door or Marylebone station and it's surrounded by mansions.
Ah yes the seagulls...............fond memories of going to London from York station on an important business meeting when a seagull shat in my hair and on the shoulder of my suit..............oh how I laughed.
