People who OD on paracetamol usually die of kidney or liver failure. Not falling asleep and never waking up.
the 1st 24 hours are the most important then the 24 after that. Please move and move quickly.
Death by paracetamol is not the best way to killyouself
. The person can be left alive in apin and disabled
i'd advice a quick trip to the hospital too - they will be in a much better position to determine damage done - or still too come - a truely horrible way to die and even if not resulting in death can leave person in much reduced health permenantly... get to the hospital, they won't judge or probe your mental health as soon as you are through the doors they will make sure you are safe and will then ask if you would like to talk about the situation that lead to this... you won't get locked up or taken away but you will be offered the support you may need to stop this happening again - though of course you are free to refuse it if you don't want to talk about it at the moment... good luck
The initial vomiting is cased by the toxicity of the high does of the drug, which is non fatal. Many people get through this after a few hours and, as heir symptomsi improve thin they are OK, think they have not done enough to kill themselves therefore don't take any further action. However, the real killer is that about 12 or so hours later they begin the second stage which is to die a most painful and protracted death as a result of the toxic metabolites. This is almost always irreversible at this stage, which is why paracetamol is such a false friend. You may think you've just given yourself a shock, but then it really gets you.....
