Am I alone in feeling a bit annoyed by this?

Presumably the store management must agree to them being there, but I don't like having to run the gauntlet on the way in and out.

Once a year I collect outside Tescos for the charity I give a lot of time and support to. Tesco do give permission of course. We are told not to stand blocking entries and not to approach anyone or shake the tin. We just stand and wait for people to come over and donate which surely is not giving hassle to those who do not want to give.
I bag pack with the Air Cadets - we always ask the person if they want help with the packing, if they say no, we don't do it.

The people shouting Give outside the shop are breaking the law of Collecting - you're supposed to stand there and smile, not to beg or coerce people to donate.

They shouldn't intimidate you - see above.
Not too concerned about collectors as they're easy enough to ignore but I very much dislike being waved down in the street by people asking for five minutes of my time etc... I can be quite curt if they continue to bother me once I have already held my hand up and siad no. I'm aware charities need money but the people on the street as far as I'm aware are not necessarily representative of the charity and actually get paid to do this which is a waste of charity money as far as I'm concerned. I'm happy to be proved wrong on this but it still won't make me speak to the annoying swines :c)
I got approached by a pleasant looking man in town, he said he was a monk (he had some sort of official badge thing) and he said was collecting for the homeless - uncharacteristically I gave him a fiver (he gave me a book about monky things) - only time I have felt good about giving (not because of the free book though).

There was a man posing as a statue and boy #1 read the card he had incorrectly and thought he was going to donate a kidney to charity (it said something like all donations received kindly).
Never see anyone collecting for charity at Aldi where i shop, perhaps they think if you shop there you are poor and can't afford to give anything.
Have never come across bag packers.
