PAYE (Pay As You Earn)
• National Insurance
• Self Assessment
• Construction Industry Scheme
• Child Benefit
• Tax credits
In addition the change you have reported will also be notified to:
• the Government Gateway
• the Pensions service
So in a way I think that this saves one having to inform them ones self.
Thought employer would have informed them but apparently not according
to Craft1948
Thanks

The employer will inform HMRC of an employees address when they make their annual P60 return or when P45's are issued when an employee leaves. It is then up to HMRC to notice the change of address when they come round to reconciling the individual's tax computations. Employers are not obliged to inform HMRC that an employee has changed their address.
Therefore as others have said, it is advisable to inform HMRC yourself.
