What would be the components of your perfect traditional british high tea? What looks most impressive?

This is for a sophisticated (hopefully!) birthday tea, but only for a very small number of people ...................... TIA

I came back through Singapore with my Mum a couple of weeks ago and I persuaded her to go for Tea and Tiffin at Raffles. That consisted of sandwiches and cakes. The cost was about £30 which which is a lot cheaper than Tea at the Ritz. Unfortunately, I can`t think of the term "Tiffen" without thinking of Sid James in Carry on up the Khyber
We always had soft-boiled eggs with soldiers for High Tea, when we were little.
