Hair Extensions on This Morning

I've always kept away from having them as I never trusted the way it was done and was scared that eventually it would affect my hair as it has done to many women that have gotten bald patches from them.
It can't only be the cheap ones that do this as Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Aniston and kim kardashian have suffered from bald patches brought on by extensions.
Do you know anyone this has happened to and were they salon or homedone?

I wouldn't wear glued in extentions for that very reason. My hair is shot enough as it is from all the straightening, I don't need to add bold patches to that too. Plus, it is almost always very obvious when someone has hair extentions in, unless they do their hair properly every day you can see the clumps of glue through their own hair.

I've got some clip in hair extensions which I wear every now and then on special occasions but again you have to make sure you do your hair well enough to cover the grips or it looks stupid. If you were to ever try clip in ones take a tip from personal experience, don't get so drunk that you forget you have them in and sleep in them. It bloody hurts!

What flabbergasted me was that the silly mare noticed her hair was thinning after 3 months, yes carried on adding extensions for several more years. Seriously???

Should say I didn't see the programme so just assuming you are talking about glued in extensions.

Yes, but even as 16, common sense tells you that if you're doing something to your bonce that makes your hair fall out, you really should stop doing it!

I thought the same boo but I think she said that it was a catch 22 situation with the more thinner her hair went the more extensions she would put in to cover her baldness.
Personally I would've just stopped and waited to see whether it grew back or not.

What exactly is the problem, the glue chemicals getting into the hair root, the weight of the extensions or both?

I think it's just all the tension on the hair. Between the weight of the extensions and then pulling them all around with brushing, washing, drying, etc. Your own hair can only take so much.

I'm surprised 16 year olds could be bothered with all that faff.

My cousin has a few hair salons and refuses to do them. She won't even do the clip-in ones...she can't stand them.
