"They're only gulls!"

That has to be the understatement of the year.
And you name is?
Don't tell him mike.
Permission to speak Sir
Carry on Jones
Why don't we all climb up onto the roofs at night with a cat each, and when the gulls waken we let the cats loose and this will frighten the gulls away and defer them from coming back. We never had trouble with gulls in the Sudan Sir, They don't like cats up em Sir, they don't like cats up em.
I think you're getting into the realms of fantasy Jones.
No I'm not.
Please Please Please!! they are "gulls" not sea gulls!!
Good strategic analysis, Wharton, except for one salient point. I have never seen a gull frightened of cats but I have seen plenty of cats sh!t-scared of gulls!
Indeed we have too - the gulls are twice the size of our cats. We have resolved a lot of the problems locally by getting rid of binbags in the street - no more vandals.
Strictly yes, they are just "gulls" ... not Seagulls.

As a Pest Controller I dealt with two headline cases of Gull attacks, one being a gull killed a small dog by pecking a hole through the skull and another being a gull picking up a small dog and dropping it from a height killing the dog.

Both cases sound far fetched but true, if someone told me about these events I would have disbelieved them.
Other Gull related interest, well maybe not? I would often be employed to act as a deterrent to attract the gulls to attack myself to make it safe for building workers on roofs chimneys etc.

I would just get paid to stand on a roof and walk around being dive bombed by gulls until they got used to me being there, it would then be safe for builders to go onto the roof and the gulls would leave them alone.

I only got injured once, I ducked down under an overhead wire, I came up as a gull was dive bombing me and he collided with the back of my head knocking me over, fortunately I was on a large flat roof at the time. The owner of the factory I was working for put £100 cash in my hand for the injury lol.
