Dining table

I have heat or water marks on my dining table. I have tried all the manufacturers' recommended products without success. Anyone know of anything other than having it stripped and repolished?

It depends on what the varnish is.....for older tables my granny used to rub with beeswax then iron through a newspaper....seemed to work
