Question about insurance liability
Hi all a couple of days ago my next door neighbours shed caught fire due to a faulty tumble drier, the fire spread to my fence then burned down one (plastic) shed and caused considerable damage to my other (wood)shed.I spoke to him re. insurance and he said his insurers said to claim off my home insurance.I spoke to my insurance and they said they will send someone out next week. My question is who should pay I did nothing wrong why should I claim off my insurance? is this normal? I feel its his insurance who should be responsible any thoughts thanks Paul.

Just the same as in a car accident you claim off your insurance and let them sort out the blame, that's what you pay for. If you are found not to blame then you can reclaim your no claims bonus , all just like car insurance.
