I realise some people do have genuine fears of needles and that's fine but do you think some people put it on a bit for dramatic effect?

I'm watching one of these hospital abroad programmes and there is a girl with an infected ear piercing. They want to give an injection of local anaesthetic to treat it but she kicked up and right stink because she's "terrified of needles" and walked of blubbing. But, she wasn't that terrified of needles that she couldn't have hear ears pierced, at least twice.

Silly cow. The doc told her if it wasn't treated she could lose her ear and she still carried on. If I was him I'd have said fine, flump off then. You'll look well ugly when you have half your ear chopped off. Lol

Ear piercing is rarely done with a needle. If she had other piercings (belly botton, eyebrow etc) then I would be inclined to believe she was faking the needle phobia as they are done with rather large needles.

It's a long time since I had my ears pierced but it's just a needle inside a gun type of contraption isn't it? I still don't buy how you can be so terrified of needles but be able to have your ears pierced.

Also I know a number of people who are scarf of needles but have been able to sit through having a tattoo. That's far worse then a little injection.

I don't have any fears as such so maybe I just don't get it.

Then she is a complete wazzock mrs_o. She had a huge abscess on here ear and had to sign a form to say she had rejected treatment and they would not attempt to treat her again. I wonder if she knew she would look like a complete twonk.

Loads of girls at school used to do this, weeping and wailing everywhere, utter load of crap. I expect one maybe two had geunine fears, the rest were just playing up.

It's a bit of a 'thing' these days to make as much fuss as possible about things like this. They also seem to have a 'stupid fit' if they're expected to cut up meat, etc. Don't bother too much about stuffing their gobs with nasty burgers and ready meals though.
