It is a very emotive day for myself and my daughters. They now have children who will never see their grandmother.
My wife passing away upset my father more than my mother passing away as he did accept my mother lived to a good age.
My father is also very much in mind as he passed away in December.
Fortunately we are very much a stick together family and we will pull through this situation.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Mums out there. I'll be going to the cemetery a little later on. I must admit I always feel a bit guilty placing flowers on Mum's grave because she never liked flowers. She had sixteen children (truthfully), all single births (I was the youngest, in fact) but it was at a time when TB was rife and she lost most of them before I was even born. Flowers always reminded her of her children's funerals so on Mother's Day it would always be chocolates, never flowers. Sorry ladies, didn't mean to put you on a downer, just reflecting on how much I miss her. :(

This is my first Mother's Day without Mum as she died last October and as Dad died 3 weeks ago, it will be my first Father's Day without him either.
However, I received lovely cards and presents from my children and had a lovely chat with them on the phone.

I most certainly agree, but please everyone spare a thought to those who would love to have been a Mum or a Grandma and wasn't able to be ....... including me, I always feel it very much on Mothering Sundays. But I still have my own Mum which makes up for it. :)
