Rest of poem
2 Answers
I learned 3 short verses at Junior School (1960's) but can only remember 1 all the way through. Does anybody know the rest of these two:-
I'd like to be a gardener, with spade and fork and hoe............
The pillar box is fat and red, its mouth is very wide............

The pillar box is fat and red
His mouth is very wide
He wears a tammy on his head
It must be dark inside.
And really it's the greatest fun
When Mummy lets me stop
And post the letters, one by one.
I love to hear them drop.
Hope this isn't too late to be of use. I learnt this poem in the early 1950s. The same teacher taught us:
I ride mylittle bicycle
I bought it at the shop.
And when I reach the big red light
I know I have to stop.
His mouth is very wide
He wears a tammy on his head
It must be dark inside.
