How does a person become possessed by a spirit and how do they overcome it?

There are no spirits, therefore a person cannot become possessed, hence they do not need to overcome something that does not exist.

I have been doing psychic research and seances a long time, and my own experience confirms the last post as well. Though if spirits do exist they've only communicated with me via a ouija board, unless they did more I'd not believe in them either. But they never even frightened anyone in the 30 years I've held seances with the board, let alone taken anyone over.

The nearest I've come across is schizophrenics who all seem to have the same evil voices in their heads swearing and insulting them. Why voices should all seem to reflect each other seems like there's more to it than mental illness, but not sure what.

The reason I asked the question is because I have watched Derek Acorah on Ghost Towns and previously on Most Haunted Live (Living TV) and he "appears" to become "possessed" quite often. Is he mentally ill, acting this out very well or is he genuinely possessed?

I've only tuned in to Most Haunted twice - but I couldn't stand to watch Derek Acorah's terrible acting!

How anyone can be taken in by him is beyond me!

those spirits that you are wondering about, they are called demons... they do posses people! any addiction can be a demon, but that doesnt mean your possessed. you can be possessed, opressed, or depressed. A possessed person cant control themselves anymore, the demon takes over. There is a spiritual world that the eye cannot see. Read the Bible. the answers are in there. I seen pastors cast out demons out of people, some demons dont wanna come out, you even have to call them by their names. You cast them put in the name of Jesus.

actually octavius thats not what i really mean. thats kinda on the right track, but on the wrong side. Thoses priests or pastors, are decieving peopple. they are on the evil sides themselves. i was reading where it said that the pastor asked the children to confess and he will see if they have witchcraft. Maybe the media is trying to cover it up, or the pastor is. What do they have to confess? I was just reading last night a book, its called "Prepare for War", by Rebecca Brown, its a book on the spiritual world. But it quotes the Bible and is based on it, and it was talking about hoe to check if the spirits are evil. God onle has one spirit, and its the Holy Spirit. Sometimes people mistake that, Satan is tricky. He was an angel of light,so he appears to be that way to us. He can trick people into thinking that he is good. They way you test spirits is by asking the person to confess that Jesus is the Son of God. If they are evil spirits, they wont do it, they cant. I've seen it. I went to this camp thing, encounter they call it, where they tell you about God. You basically have an encounter with God, you can meet him, if your open to it. But you wont see him. anyway, they were praying for this girl and she fell down and started kicking and screaming, and they told her to say in the name of Jesus, and she wouln't. She started speaking in a different voice and closed her eyes and wouldn't say Jesus. They held her down and cast it out of her, they said it name of Jesus, devil get out!!! But it was like she was fighting with herself, the demon was trying to take over, They got it out, and she was like a totally different person. Africa is one of the evilest places. It has the most witchcraft and vodoo. The demons can even be seen there. People are really lost and possesed there. Many pastors are decived there themselfs by satan..

and the answers are all in the Bible. check it out. and remember, satan was the angel of light. he can do miracles. he came to lie, steal, and kill.... He will do anything he can, to get people on his side. its not a joke..... let me know what you think about that.
