Coming to the end of the financial year?
Get rid or their budget will be cut for next year. Same as round here, the number of smallish jobs done during March like resurfacing, filling in holes in roads/pavements etc

same as round here when the heavy snow was forecast in january there was not a gritter to be seen,and then when the snow had come and gone and the tempratures were on the up they send out the gritters,our council is cutting all the local services and yet manages to find hundreds of thousands of pounds to help out a league 2 football side [port vale] so that their original loan of £2.2 million can be safeguarded,you couldnt make it up...
