Best of luck to them, if they aren't careful it will ruin their lives!
I think they have already had the luck. Wish I had some of that sort of luck though. Maybe I should start buying a lottery ticket again.
Enjoy!!
'Good for them'... I don't really know what other view people could possibly have.
Regarding the lady who dropped out of the syndicate 6 months ago because she could no longer afford it, if i was one of those who had won I would now be calling a winners meeting and suggesting that perhaps it would be a nice gesture to club together and donate a few thousand each to this lady. She was obviously at the time she dropped out putting paying bills and food on the table as priorities over gambling which in my book makes her a good mother. I won't hold my breath however after reading the comments made by some of these winners about it being bad luck for her but what can you do? If they don't give her something then they really are a mean and tight fisted bunch.
5 on the trot in GB now. i'm never going to win it.
Good for them
Played havoc with the bus service as none of them turned up for work apparently
Agree totally Dave50....10 or 20 grand apiece they wouldn't notice it had gone...feel for the lass I really do...
If someone drops out of a syndicate that is their choice why should the rest feel obliged to give them something.
I agree, a whipround would be a nbice gesture.

Of course they don't have to do that moonraker, they are not 'oblidged' - it's called being nice and helping out people less fortunate.

Depends how long the syndicate has been going. If it's quite a few yrs and she only had to pull out 6 months ago then they could easily give her a few thousand each. After all they would make lots of interest in one wk. Any idea how much?
I think it depends why they had to drop out... I'd probably want to give them something if they had really been struggling maybe only a couple of thousand
> She was obviously at the time she dropped out putting paying bills and food on the table as priorities over gambling

As were the people who didn't join the syndicate in the first place ...
I`ve always found Corby people to be quite generous and will be surprised if they are all mean with their winnings. Surely most of us, in their position, would give a helping hand to a struggling colleague whether or not they had been in the syndicate. Or am I naive?
Moonraker - did you post twice in error, or is that a reply to me?
Andy, error by me ...doh.
Cool, no problem, thanks.
I certainly wouldn't hesitate to part with a lump sum from my winnings, even if the others didn't bother, I'd still chuck it her way.

Am I right that all the winners were men? My partner worked as a bus driver a few years ago and he told me that all the men were horrible to the woman bus drivers, particularly the 'old school' drivers - anything they could do to get one up on them they would. He couldn't believe what a bitchy lot they were, jacked it in after a few months as he couldn't bear it!
