Sounds like the thermostat is stuck in the closed position, i would change the thermostat if i were you ( they are pretty cheap to buy).
Did you go through the correct procedure to bleed the cooling system after re-topping up the coolant?
Question Author
how exactly do i bleed the system there is no bleed valve on the housing etc?....just a thin hard plastic hose which clips onto the housing and the other end goes onto the top of the coolant tank etc?....ive nevr had to bleed a coolant etc before some step by step notes would be cool, cheers???
Hi, top up the system with Summer / Winter antifreeze, start the car & switch on the heater ( No, I'm not joking) slacken one of the heater or top hose but do not remove, be prepared for hot water coming out of the hose, then re tighten the hose & try, do not take the car for a test drive until all the system is clear of air, if there is still some air in the system the heater will blow HOT / COLD that is your warning.
