slow loading pictures on ebay

i'm new to ebay and i am trying to sell something. but when i put a picture on it, it takes ages to load up. is this normal? is it because the servers are busy? if so what times will they no t be busy

It certainly sounds as if your file sizes are far too big. Right-click on one of your picture files and click 'properties' to view it's size. The maximum you'll need for e-bay purposes is about 30kb. (Photos taken with most digital cameras generally have file sizes between 500kb and 5000kb).

I don't use XP but I believe that it has a built-in facility for optimising pictures for the web. If you haven't got XP you need to use something like Photoshop (wonderful but expensive) or Irfanview (good & free):

how do i make the file size smaller then?
load pic into your imaging program - resize it to make it smaller then save it with a slightly different file name. I just add web on to the name e.g. me.jpg would become meweb.jpg indicating that the file is for uploading and is a small size. As Buenchico says 30K is ample for EBay use.
