What about the rumour that Royal Mail will subsidise the price of stamps to people on benefits. How will this work? Will they have to show benefit books at point of purchase (Do they still have them now?) Why not for pensioners as well if it is true.

it was in the news a few weeks back, and i posted a thread about it then, not sure how it can work. As others pointed out what is to stop someone from claiming their shed load of discounted stamps and then selling them on, and how do you means test people. A daft idea i hope doesn't take off.
