Including fitting, reasonable.
Question Author
Celtic, yes that includes fitting, Thanks
It sounds *too* reasonable, actually.

Are they a reputable FENSA registered company/fitter?
Question Author
Jack, I don't know if they are in Fensa but they've been around forever.
Are they a well-known 'name'?

Have you checked the quality of the profile/glazing system they use?

It is not always the case that swapping any single-glazed window with a double-glazed unit is naturally 'better'. If the quality, or fitting is substandard, you can end up exactly where you were.......but with a lighter wallet.
I assume it is a local company,if they gave bad service they would not last long and you would have heard about it. It has been known for small firms to be taken over, so past performance is not always a yardstick. Go with your instinct.

They seem OK, I'll ask around. The old panels are misted with moisture in the gap that's why I'm replacing them.
Right........It's just the sealed units you are having replaced?

In that case, everything seems fine. :o)
While you are asking, you already have perfectly good glass of the correct dimensions that could be re-sealed and save money. No harm asking.
Question Author
Celtic, how do I get them resealed and will that get rid of the mire already inside?
John, you might want to ask if they're using Pilkington "K" glass (low emissivity), and argon-filled cavities. Not essential, but gives maximum insulation.

Builder, will do ,thanks
