Last year my insurance was £249, I have made no claims etc, my renewal came through today and if I stay with the AA it is going up to £470 or I can switch to an alternative insurer, which they have provided where the sum will be £373. Why the big hike in price?
I have two cars insured with MoreThan and the premiums have gone down slightly for both cars in the last two renewals. I can't be the only one paying less, can I?
Swinton are pricing very agressively at the moment - bike & car now both with them.
One warning - they will bombard you with calls offering 'associated products' - which is OK until they continue to do so after you have asked them politely to stop doing it - then it starts to get fairly irritating.
I always go to my insurers web site when the renewal comes in and and I do a new quote which is usual cheaper than the renewal price, in fact I have just done that today for my OH and not only did they agree to the new online price but also said if I put my self on as a named driver it would be cheaper still, at the end of the day to stay with the same insurance company I saved my OH £148 on the renewal quote.
My ins. was £208 in 2010 and my renewal last december toook it up to £290.
I went online, found a couple at £206 (the cheapest) went back to my insurer and, surprise surprise, they found a couple of ways of giving me discounts. I got it for the same price as the previous year.
