Does anyone know if these are any good as i dont really want to keep taking my plug with me when i go on holiday and also once the solar charger is charged can i then just keep charging it in the sun forever thereafter or will it still need a top up via plug or usb cable?

They are OK but there is no substitute for taking your own charger with you.
Surely most solar chargers are at least as large as a normal plug charger, so if you have access to electricity I can't see how it would be a benefit, especially as you tend to want to charge phones at night.

If you are worried about losing the charger while on holiday just buy another charger instead, if your phone charges from USB then a USB mains adapter is less than £5.

To be honest, i also would like one in case there is a power cut which we had a few times here before Christmas.
Frequent power cuts? An additional charger that operates from a car cigarette lighter socket might come in handy.
