I agree with gill1941.A daft test.I think it's more important that they should be able to speak English or be willing to learn it. It costs a great deal to employ interpreters .Do migrants have to sit a driving test in this country before being allowed to drive? Wonder if this test is written in different languages??

45%, but that was only because I didn't spot the "who cares" answer which would, of course, always have been right. One is not against a check to see if folk claiming they wish to be British are going to make an effort to be part of this nation, rather than bring their own with them, but this test simply isn't fulfilling that role. But it's all moot anyway, the island is full and we ought not be offering the chance to make the problem worse.
Here are some sample Q's and A's for the USA citizen test....a bit different from the UK example....

If Daffy's link shows the typical questions asked, then although I was born and lived in Britain all my life, I only scored 42%.
Some of the questions bear no resemblance to UK Citizenship.
One I got stuck on was about the number of Bank Holidays a year. The answer was four, I put eight! I thought, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day holiday (first Monday in May), Spring Bank Holiday, August Bank Holiday and Boxing Day. That makes seven. As there was no provision to enter seven, I put eight thinking I might have missed one!. I'll have to check the internet to see where I went wrong!

the answer should be six...

'How many bank holidays are there per year in the UK?' is asked in the UK Citizenship Test.
The answer given is four. The actual answer is a bit ambiguous, there are normally six in England and Wales, seven in Scotland, and eight in Northern Ireland!
I would hope the question would be marked according to where the applicant was living. But how the powers that be came up with four as the answer is anybody's guess!
