Hi, my 4 year old Westie suffers from gastritis and the vet has recommended a diet of chicken & rice. Does anyone know of canned dog foods i can buy as an alternative? Thanks

Arden Grange do a canned chicken and rice food:

However for a Westie I would have though it would be cheaper to cook your own. Get the cheap chickens from Tesco and cook them all at once, strip the meat off and freeze it, cook the rice and either do the same or cook it fresh or a couple of days worth at a time.
Hi, I used to have a Great Dane that suffered terribly with his bowels years ago and my vet recommended Chappie. It worked. Cheap and cheerful, they do a chicken and rice complete and tinned.Hope your little one is feeling better soon.

My 4 year old westie tends toward 'loose' but he's improved since I put him on Burns organic dog food....he's currently on lamb and rice.
My Wolfhounds only eat raw fresh human grade meat, bones and fish, feeding this diet will usually eliminate all types of stomach problems that are usually a result of filling them with all this highly processed kibble and cereal that they should never eat in the first place, but of course your vet will strongly advise against this diet because they aren't getting any sales and the pet food industry help fund all their training!! our dogs have never looked better on this diet, so natural and the dogs love it!!
