If your child gets a statement of educational needs and it states that they have to go to a special school can they make you take your child out of their current school and move them to the special school? Thanks.

To go to the speech and language centre my son would need banded funding at either level 3 or 4 OR a statement of special educational needs (so presumably, the speech therapist thinks he will get one of these). I do not have to send him to this centre and his needs can be met by a mainstream school of my choice. I have a meeting with the local primary school head on Friday to discuss all this and the boy's been referred to a paediatrician to investigate the statement route.
