There's a fairly standard routine I use when this happens. Clearly the virus wasn't stopped by the programme, and looks like a nasty one here http://guides.yoosecu...us-from-your-browser/
I run a virus scan first to see if that does it for me, if not there is a free tool here http://www.removeonli...t-funmoods-com-virus/
Funmoods is a browser hijacker but hopefully if you follow these steps it will be gone. The first site shows you how to remove it directly from the registry if you feel safe doing so.

thanks for the advice,
i tried a few things and virus removal things from google sites, most wanted paying, so had a brainwave and sent the computer back a month, to a point where the virus hadn't been downloaded. all now works well, took a while on restart to put back all the updates, but when finished computer is now back to normal.
thanks,
Percy.
