MY CAR'S ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE BECAUSE IT USED TO APPEAR AND DISAPPEAR BUT NOW IT IS PERMANENTLY ON THE DASH BOARD?

Unsure what your question is but get it fixed.
Engines are not cheap to replace.

Check your drivers handbook, it will tell you why it is on !

Probably it is trying to tell you not to wreck your engine!

I have been having the same problem with my Citroen c3. (52 plate),
had a look on the net and a common problem was with the jet washers (windscreen washers), they are not sealed and allow water to get into the electrics in the engine causing problems. I have now sealed mine with bathroom silicone and (touch wood) the problem has not re occurred. Apparantly it is a common fault. Hope this helps.
