American frosting - UK equivalent?

I have an American recipe which requires "frosting" - what is this please? Is it icing sugar mixture?

You can buy frosting in the UK in most supermarkets in the baking aisle. Its by Betty Crocker, in a tub, in the vanilla white or chocolate flavour.

I will tell you why I asked - I am considering buying a Cake pops maker from Lakeland (like cupcakes on a stick like lollipops) for my niece who makes cakes for children's parties.
