Being of an - ahem! - certain age, I have enjoyed the majority of the music in my formative years without the aid of visual accompaniement, and for that reason, I am not a huge fan of music videos, preferring to imagine my own scenarios.
There are honourable exceptions which utterly encapsulate the mood and meaning of a song - here is a perfect example.

Two excellent music videos that spring to my mind, by actually adding 'value' to the songs, are those for "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel, and "Centrefold" by the J Geils Band. One of the most disturbing (at the time) but gripping was the 'claymation' film for "City of Tiny Lights" by Frank Zappa.
