If it ever stops raining the builder and I are going to lay the new patio. When I was burying the sharps box of syringes I didn`t know what to do with I decided to bury a time capsule under the patio too. I`ve a few things sorted including an empty B&H packet in case they put cigs in plain packets. The usual newspapers, menus etc..
Any ideas what might interest the next person to dig up the patio in many....well let`s hope many...years time? Bet this has been asked before...pre me.
Back to coving.
//When I was burying the sharps box of syringes I didn`t know what to do with// - don't leave these for some poor soul to stumble upon, take them to the doctors surgery or chemist and they'll supply a bin for them.
DT. Empty bottle....good idea. Haven`t finished the mag yet.
Maidup. Do you know how hard I tried to dispose of these blasted things. I had to inject OH 3xweekly. The full boxes were exchanged for an empty one. It was almost full when he died. Hospital refused to take it because he was no longer a patient. Chemist won`t take it. My surgery won`t take it. Was told somewhere on our industrial estate might but drove around for ages and couldn`t find it. It`s in a safe sharps box. I`m just sick of looking at it so it`s had a funeral.
Have you got anything like a record, cassette tape (and/or old personal stereo), old brick like mobile phone? A TV magazine maybe and print out of the current top 10.
We lived in my mothers old house when they moved, the bedroom had the old fireplace in it and we decided to get rid of it..Behind the fireplace was a shopping list in my mothers handwriting, with prices probably from the 1940's it made interesting reading
And the flipping builder is married to a surgery receptionist. He thought she would take it, but no. Against the rules.
Some cracking ideas that I hadn`t thought of. Thank you, I shall enjoy doing this.
Anyway...back to the coving. Will look in on next cig break.
I know what you mean gness about the sharps box. I have one sitting in my hallway that was my husbands. Nobody will accept it since he died, the hospital, his doctors surgery, chemist. They just give me a number to phone who tell me I have to leave it outside to be collected which I am not allowed to do as I love in sheltered housing. I don't even have a garden to bury it in so god knows what I will do with it!
Thank you Jan. Friends don`t believe me when I say I can`t get rid of it.
Did you mean live or love in sheltered housing? If its love can I have the address please?
