What is the best screen adaptation of a book you have read and what is the worst.
I love what they did with PS I Love You, much preferred it to the book, but hated Stephen Kings The Stand, thought the book was so much better.

The shining Stephen King, great book but crap film.
My Sister's Keeper Jody Picoult (worst), they completely changed the ending !
The Jason Bourne films were a travesty of the books, because the back-story was omitted from the films they never made sense.
Loved 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'

Will have to think about the worst
'Das Boot', splendid German adaptation of an excellent story. The worst film adaptation was 'King Solomon's Mines' which was a pathetic mauling of the immortal story by H. Rider Haggard.
Watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest last night (for the umpteenth time). There wasn't a dry eye in the house :(
