A couple of years ago I arranged a bank loan, secured on my house, in order to facilitate the purchase of a property by a niece. The loan was repaid promptly as soon as she found a buyer for her old home.
I know I have the paperwork somewhere, but before I start searching for it would that type of loan have come with PPI?

Nobody any thoughts? I'd hate to start rummaging through piles of paper in there's no reward at the end of the search.
I have never had any PPI because I was rarely offered it and when i was I always opted out, so based my experience I can't see how anyone would ever have it without being aware of it, but it seems some people were unaware.
I think the answer is it could have but quite likely it didn't. You need to find your paperwork or ask the loan provider
