no vote..no voice !!

My oh drives me mad...the local elections are coming up and as always he says he will not be voting..never votes in anything..I have even arranged for postals so he does not even have to drag himself to a polling both but still can't even scribble a cross and name on a bit of paper..BUT..he does nothing but rant and rave about the Government etc etc..whining, moaning and has plenty to say about what they do and don't do. I say.. if you do not even vote then you have NO right to an opinion...people like his dad have fought and died in order that we may live in a democratic society..and to my mind he is insulting their bravery....GGGRRRRR...rant over....

don't vote, then can't rant, voting gives you a voice, abstaining does not.

I've stood for council in my younger days BM and know what you're going through. (No. I didn't get in either time).
I've always voted for the same party over the last 50 years and agree there is a difference between local and national politics.
Quite frankly, for the first time ever, I am at a loss as to which way I will vote in the next general election. I'm completely disillusioned with all parties at the moment.
