best site for famly search
we're thinking of joining a genealogy site to search family history,and was wondering if anyone could recommend one.how much are they,and how long is the contract.

Also these are a number of Online Parish Clerk schemes all over the country, if you google lan-opc it takes you to the Lancashire site and down the left side there's a link to other sites.
Ancestry also gives a 14 day free trial very often, which would give you a good start, remember to cancel before the end though. With different cards, you can manage a few 14day free trials!

I don't know what it's like for old records but I went into 192.com last Thursday, (see previous entry) and found a cousin I last saw 47 years ago.
We've made contact and are going to meet up sometime. She also gave me info over the phone about the family which will help me search for other records.
That particular exercise was free but like most sites, older records may cost me.
I'm going to try it out for older records when I get a minute but currently use ancestry.com.
