London Marathon/Arthritis Research
16 Answers
Well, I've done a search and other people have posted similar requests on here, so I suppose it's OK, so here goes.
My friend is running the London Marathon this year to raise funds for Arthritis Research. Those of us who have arthritis know what a miserable, debilitating disease it is, destroying quality of life and making you old before your time. It affects all areas of your life - work, relationships, hobbies, even sleep. Something as simple as getting dressed in the morning can be a major achievement.
Please could you consider donating just a couple of quid via her JustGiving page. At least go and take a look: www.justgiving.com/RachelAllen2012
This will be the third time Rachel has done the Marathon, so she'll definitely complete it!
Thank you so much.

My son does the Great London swim (amongst others ) and raised about £1600 last year. he is doing it again on his birthday May 26. I never bother to ask for sponsers though as I do so many things throughout the year, I find I cant keep expecting the same people to donate. So when I pay to enter I always put a bit extra on. I feel I sometimes want to do the things just to satisfy myself that I can do it.
Thanks both for your kind words - arthritis is a real swine of a disease, so it's good to know that people care.
TOH - good luck with the York 10k, that's brilliant
Mrs O - lucky for you that I'm having a bad knees day today, lady. Why, if I were ten years younger.....

Thank you for your sponsorship, whoever you are! I've been feeling out of sorts with my knees and lower back really acting up today, so your kind donation has really cheered me up.
Rachel doesn't actually know that I lead a double life as Kiki-frog on AB, so I had to text her and fess up.
Thanks again. x

TOH - yes, being Bet Lynch was becoming a bit of a strain. All that hairspray was giving me a headache. Being a knitted monkey drinking tea is a much easier life. I though the latest sponsor might have been you, but evidently not. I wonder who it was? You will let us know when you're doing the York 10k won't you. x
