Are sweets and chocolates at checkouts a danger to kids?

What's next sweets and chocolate wrapped in plain wrappers and hidden away behind closed cabinets?

I used to buy mine other treats, if they'd been good. Usually books, colouring books, felt tips.

They never asked for sweets as they knew what the answer would be.

point well made McFluffy, it just irritates me when I see customers at my shop with trollies full of booze, and when the child asks for a bar of chocolate or sweets they get bawled at, im often very tempted to buy the kid the damn thing myself.

Is it a case of if I buy the sweets I won't have enough for my wine?

My reason for not letting my kids eat sweets was to protect their teeth. Which worked as they all have perfect teeth.

Sweets on a Sunday with my Dad....they really looked forward to it.

i get more annoyed seeing drunk parents in the pub buying their kids fizzy drinks and sweets in an effort to get them to bugger off and play and leave them to the serious business of getting drunk

but i digress

Believe me ummmm, and now i know im stereo typing here, but the customers I serve couldn't give a flying fart about their own teeth, never mind their children's! ;-)
