I did put up a test post a few days ago an am still experiencing problems.
General surfing is not a problem but there are some strange symptoms.
I can only intermittently post on this or another forum (on which I am a moderator), although I can do everything else.
If I can get onto Facebook, I can't expand threads or access messages etc.
I have disabled ZoneAlarm, disabled Avast! and restarted Firefox in Safe Mode (one by one, then restarted each). I have connected to Laptop directly to the Router (just in case it was the wireless connection)
I have downloaded and run Google Chrome, with similar, though not identical results.
As I write, the ads on this page are working (but not the one above "share" on the right)
This seemed to start after Firefox updated to version 11 but that may not be connected.
I'm using Windoze Vista
Ant suggestions as to where to look would be appreciated.
Chrome seems more reliable that Firefox but neither will let me post on Facebook.
The two ads at the side are ok at the moment but the "Share" button is blanked and no ad at the top. The ad by "Best Answer" always works.
There seems to be no pattern. Sometimes I can post and sometimes not.
Any suggestions would still be welcomed. Pretty please :-(

Today, all ads are working but the "share" button is not loading.
Using Chrome as that seems more reliable. Was able to post short messages on another forum last night bot nothing over 50 characters or so.
No Facebook on FF or Chrome today
^^^
Mmm. 512 characters posted ok but the post I put into Chatterbank had to be edited down before I could post it. I just can't work out what is going on.
Hi Chuck and thanks for the reply.
Where do I find the DNS settings in Vista, I've opend network and sharing centre, where do I go from there?
I could do that sort of stuff with 98 :(
OK.
Changed the DNS address in TCP/IP 4 to 8.8.8.8 for the wireless network. It didn't like it in TCP/IP 6 (invalid address)
Now the FB "Like" button is working but not the other ads.
P&O ads always work, as do the Best Answer ads but not others.
Just realised today that I can't send emails - SMTP server times out. I have 2 email accounts with different SMTP servers and neither work.
Have had no problems receiving them.
I know now that I should have done a system restore within a few days but it's too late for that now. :(
