When I was very little my mum taught me to knit -she was incredibly good at it. By the time I was a teenanger I was also very good and could knit the most complex of patterns which I was very proud of. Then one day with a new boyfriend we visited his nan who was knitting. He mad a comment to the effect that it was what little old ladies did whn they were bored and so I never mentioned it. In fact I never knitted again. Stupid really. So is there anything that you are good at that most people dont know?

nungate They take between two and three weeks to complete depending on how much beading there is on each. I haven't done any for a while because I have several completed that need framing, and at £70.00 plus a go for that I have been putting it off. It is a fairly expensive hobby when you factor in chart, threads, beads, fabric and framing (total around £120.00 per picture).

Growing up I learnt to knit and sew, cook and bake and all that. I used to love playing with my mum's sewing machine and later learnt to crochet at a hospice I volunteered at.
In my first year at secondary school we had to make something in textiles class, most made a beanbag or cushion, I made a fully lined and buttoned waistcoat, think my mum still has it somewhere! No great skill, just because I'd learn how.
I used to be a good shot when I was an RAF cadet - rubbish at shooting things in video games though :)
Actual skill wise, I guess language learning is mine - did French, German and Spanish at to A Level and French, German and Italian at uni for a year before switching to law but learn bits of numerous other languages including a sign language and other short courses.
Ooh I can touch my toes too! I'm hypermobile but think I've managed to retain some of the flexibility from doing ballet and gymnastics despite the arthritis :) Ooh vaulting, that was my thing in gymnastics, was always so jealous of people that could do the asometric bars though - could never manage them!
