losing freeview channels
7 Answers
Just had our digital switch over (Poole Area)
bought a freeview digital set top box From comet (Ferguson, not sure what model number)
Full scan stores 32 channels but as soon as i switch over to another channel I lose all the bbc channels and a few others channels, the only way to get them back is to do a full re-tune!
When I do lose them is says "New channel please wait" then after approx 30 seconds "no signal" although until you switch over I have a perfect picture and strong signal!
Have I got a faulty box or am i doing something wrong?
Will check back later
many thanks in advance

I have had this trying to set up my portable TV with freeview built in - I do the scan on the main aerial downstairs and it's fine, but when I try to play them in the bedroom using the aerial I have up there, it loses the channels. Either get a new aerial fitted or try a signal booster, though to be honest, with that few channels I reckon a new aerial is the better option.
As Postdog indicates, the problem relates to insufficient signal strength. (The number of channels available should be over 100).

I actually get about 85 channels, (inc radio, rabbit, gay rabbit, slightly camp rabbit etc )
I put on a signal booster to see if it makes a difference, what is actually happening is it installs the channels,(peferct clear picture on all channels) then after about 30-40 seconds a box comes up and says "new channels found", you have to press ok to remove this box and as soon as you do this I lose all the bbc channels, I presume the signal is there otherwise i would i magine i wouldnt get them at all not just for 30 seconds..or i could be wrong!
