New postage rates
11 Answers
As an avid Telegraph crossworder submitting some 5 weekend prize competitions every Monday morning, all to the Telegraph Media Group. I've asked them if they would consider accepting them in one envelope instead of the 5 separate ones, to save on the crazy postage increases due on 30th. Needless to say I have had no response. I shall probably carry on doing the puzzles but will not be submitting them - it wont give me the same buzz, but needs must! I hate to cry the blues but as an 80 year old wrinkly find I'm having to cut back on so many outgoings and these new postage charges are the last straw!

I didn't receive a reply from him but he has taken my suggestion on board and the closing date has been moved back a day to a Friday.

Putting them in one envelope would not work. To pick the winners, they put all the unopened envelopes in a tray or whatever, pick one at random, then count a random number from that for the next one etc. It would be cheaper to join their "Clued up" club and submit on line. I know that not all of their crosswords can be submitted that way; perhaps that is where pressure should be applied to the editor?
