I was wondering if anyone knows the specific name of an insurance company who will cover a car whilst laid up. I have tried loads of companies with no luck, the only one I found only did it for 'classic' cars, and my insurance company was no good either. I have asked this already but am desperate for an answer!

Norwich Union used to do laid up cover with partial refund for existing policyholders - they may be able to help you out.
Frizzell have one of my cars covered for "off road" risks (fire & theft). But I am an existing policy holder, and downgraded to this cover from Third party, fire & theft. They may not quote for new customers.
